Layouts

Quelvo has five layouts. Each is optimized for a different kind of data. You set a default layout per view from the Layouts page in the dashboard, and clients can also switch layouts themselves from the top of the portal.

Table

The classic spreadsheet view. One row per record, one column per visible Notion property. Click any row to open the detail view.

Best for: client lists, deliverables, line items, transactions, invoices — any data where you want everything visible at a glance.

Works on: all plans.

Gallery

A responsive grid of cards. Each card shows a cover image (or a colored tile if there's no image), the record's title, and up to three property chips.

Best for: portfolios, creative briefs, content libraries, product catalogs — anything where the visual preview matters.

Configure:

  • Cover image source — choose a Notion Files property, a URL property (must end in .jpg, .png, .webp, etc.), or the record's Notion page cover.
  • Property chips — pick up to three properties to show on each card (Status, Date, or any short text).

Works on: all plans.

Board (Kanban)

Cards grouped into columns by a Status or Select property. Drag a card from one column to another to update its value — the change writes back to Notion instantly.

Best for: project pipelines, intake queues, sprint boards, approval workflows — anything that moves through stages.

Configure:

  • Group by — pick a Status or Select Notion property. Each option becomes a column.
  • Properties with more than 12 options are not recommended (columns become hard to navigate).

Drag-to-update needs editing enabled

For drag-and-drop to move records between columns, the group-by column must be marked Editable on the Columns page. Without that, the board is read-only — clients can see the columns but can't move cards.

Works on: Pro and Agency plans. Starter shows a Table view with a "Board available on Pro" message.

Calendar

A monthly calendar with each record placed on its date. Navigate forward and backward through months. Records that span a date range show as multi-day bars.

Best for: content schedules, project milestones, deadline tracking, event planning — anything tied to a date.

Configure:

  • Date property — choose which Notion date property powers the calendar. Eligible types: Date, Created time, Last edited time.
  • Week starts on — Monday or Sunday.

On mobile, the calendar switches to a scrollable agenda list grouped by date.

Works on: Pro and Agency plans.

Timeline (Gantt)

A horizontal Gantt-style chart with bars showing each record's duration. Zoom between day, week, and month views. A sticky label column on the left keeps records identifiable while scrolling.

Best for: projects with start and end dates, campaigns, sprints, roadmaps — anything you want to visualize across time.

Configure:

  • Start date property — the left edge of each bar. Required.
  • End date property — the right edge. Optional. If not set, Quelvo uses the end date from Notion's own date range, or falls back to a single-day bar.
  • Default zoom — Day (finest detail), Week, or Month (broadest view).

Bars narrower than 60 pixels collapse to a marker with a date label so short durations stay readable.

On mobile, the Timeline switches to a scrollable agenda list.

Works on: Pro and Agency plans.

Setting a default layout

From the dashboard:

  1. Open the portal → Layouts in the sidebar.
  2. Click the layout tile you want as the default.
  3. For Gallery, Board, Calendar, or Timeline, configure the required fields that appear after selecting the layout.
  4. Click Save.

Clients open the portal in this layout by default. They can switch using the layout switcher in the top-right of the portal.

Multiple layouts in the same portal

Each view in a portal has its own saved layout. One view can be a Board (for active work) while another is a Calendar (for upcoming deadlines) — same Notion data, different lenses.

Clients switch between views using the tab row at the top of the portal. Switching views also switches to that view's configured layout.
